Tinau (My Mother)
엄마의 고향
  • 그린파노라마-Action4Climate
Synopsis Scientists predict that Kiribati - a remote Island Republic in the Central Pacific - could be lost to rising sea levels in the next 50 years. As a result a whole nation faces an uncertain future. 'Tinau' is an intimate family portrait of a Kiribatese mother now settled in the UK and the ties that bind her to her former disappearing homeland.

A documentary filmmaker based in London. Born to an English father and a Kiribatese mother, she spent her formative years growing up in Kiribati and Fiji in the Pacific, before settling back in the UK during her teens. After graduating from Goldsmiths University with a BA in History of Art, she spent some time working for the BBC and the independent sector as a TV researcher. She likes to think of herself as more optimistic than that – a motto reflected in her work, one film at a time.
